The Client

This client is a leading government healthcare provider, responsible for developing, providing, and governing acute healthcare services nationwide. 

Client Challenge

This client required the expertise of a Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) partner in order to build a team for their new Electronic Health Record (EHR) programme.  

The objective of the project was to recruit an Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation team made up of 82 Application Analysts, to design, build, test, implement and train end users on how to operate the system.  

The Electronic Health Record implementation team required individuals across a wide range of skill sets and experience, including clinical, operational, technical, digital health, project management and change management. 

Skills shortages were a large challenge for the client, as there is a limited pool of qualified candidates with experience in digital health and EHR implementation. 

Timelines were another key challenge for this client as they needed to hire the 82-application analyst within an eight-month time period, as mandatory training had already been scheduled to take place in eight months’ time when this project commenced. 

The shortlisting of candidates had to be based on a wide variety of skillsets to meet both the clinical and technical skills required for these roles. Skills assessments for this process were rigorous and refined the talent pool significantly to gain both client sector expertise with digital aptitude. 

Client Journey

Cpl’s Talent Evolution Group partnered with the client’s EHR management team to establish a recruitment process and appropriate timelines to successfully hire the 82 application analysts within the target timeframes.

This process began with building a trusted relationship between the client and Cpl’s Talent Evolution Group through regular communication and alignment meetings. By establishing an understanding of the client's needs, we were able to craft a tailored recruitment process solution. We also established a full-time dedicated team to implement and manage the recruitment process. 

The rapport and relationship built with the client allowed for the establishment of an implementation process which consisted of regular meeting, reporting, and the updates on candidate journey.  

Throughout the process, our team oversaw every step of the candidate experience, including key touch points from application to acceptance. The process included each step from: 

  • Advertisement of the roles 
  • Answering candidate questions and queries 
  • Management and recommendation of applications to the client 
  • Scheduling and management of the assessments  
  • Scheduling and management of the interview process 
  • Management of the post-interview process for those offered a position 
  • Management of the pre-employment checks and working with HR to issue a contract of employment

Client Success

Cpl’s Talent Evolution Group partnered with our client's management team to establish a recruitment process and appropriate timelines in order to successfully hire the 82 application analysts within the allocated timeframes. All hiring targets were met and we measured and exceptional candidate experience, despite the rigorous recruitment and assessment process. 

Results

Our team successfully filled the Application Analyst positions within the allocated time for the client.

Throughout this project, the RPO team processed more than 1,600 applications, shortlisted 958 of those applicants for assessments, which led to interviews taking place in total to hire the entire EHR team for our client in the allocated 8-month time period. 

Our clients EHR team are now fully hired and we continue to work with them as their RPO partner, supporting with their recruitment needs as required.
